Big dogs

For some dog owners, big dogs are the only kind of dog to have. Small dogs don't fit some people's image of what a dog should be. Big dogs embody the image of what a dog should be: noble, strong, protective and playful.

In the wrong environment big dogs can mean big problems. All dogs have a wild side and can show aggression when provoked, but big dogs can inflict more harm. But most bad behavior brought to the surface from natural instinct in big dogs can be phased out with proper training. So in most cases, there is no reason to fear big dogs. But if you are not familiar to a small or big dog, stay calm and let the dog smell you first.

So big dogs can be a little more dangerous, but are often gentle and protective and a threat to know one. If you're thinking of getting a big dog, be prepared to give them a lot of exercise, and make sure your home has enough room for a big dog.
