Golden Retriever

The Golden Retriever originated in Scotland and is grouped with the sporting breeds. Acceptable colors for Golden Retrievers range from of Golden to cream. Golden retrievers have straight or wavy fur with an undercoat that does not absorb water. They flourish in the countryside, but Golden Retrievers can adjust well to an urban environment with outdoor exercise.

Nature:
Golden Retrievers are a very loyal and devoted breed that make a terrific family dog. Because it is so dedicated and gentile, the Golden Retriever is often trained to be an assistance dog. They are very energetic when they are young, but Golden Retrievers do tend to slow down with age. You will be hard pressed to find a better companion with a breed other than the Golden Retriever.
