Pure breed dogs
A dog is considered pure bred if the dog is recognized by a certain an official organization such as the Canadian or American Kennel Club. Not all pure dog breeds are recognized by the different clubs. Furthermore, some dog breeders have given names to color variations on pure breed dogs that are not recognized. If you want to be sure you are purchasing a true pure breed dog, be sure to buy only from certified breeders. A legitimate pure dog breeder will have a certification from your country's kennel countries.
Pure breed dogs are not necessarily better than other mixed breed dogs. For one, pure breed dogs can be very expensive because of relative rarity, whereas mixed breed dogs are almost always given away for free. Also some people have noticed that pure breed dogs often don't live as long as mutts. This is just a general observation and not a scientifically proven fact. But one might assume that this is because some pure breed dogs have less genetic variety, or that bad genes have been preserved and passed on from generations in order to maintain the dog breed pure. Also, some pure breed dogs have been inbred and have developed personality defects that do not truly reflect the breed. In this case, the dogs conform to all the visual specifications such as color and shape, but it is important to know that the character must also conforms to the guidelines in order to be considered pure bred.
But of course this generalization does not apply to all pure breed dogs. Most people really want pure breed dogs for either the status or because they truly appreciate the beauty and qualities of a certain breed. So be assured that if you deal with a reputable and ethical breeder you will have yourself a wonderful pure breed dog.
